Researchers in psychology and nutrition often find connections between what we what we eat and how we feel. You may have noticed that certain foods affect your mood but if you weren’t quite sure, Florida Atlantic University recently published information linking processed food and feelings of anxiety and depression.
They report that participants who ate more “junk food” reported having significantly more “mentally unhealthy days” and “anxious days.” Junk food eaters also had significantly lower rates of reporting zero “mentally unhealthy days” and zero “anxious days”.
If you and your family want to eat healthier, it may be helpful to get emotional and behavior support by joining up with others or getting advice on how to make changes that are right for your body, metabolism and nutritional needs.
