Individual Therapy in Washington
Mind Over Matters individual therapy is what many consider traditional. In these one-on-one sessions between client and therapist, you will identify your goals and begin your journey.
Sometimes we are going through stressful situations, but we do not feel safe talking to a friend, or a family member, or even our partner without fear of being judged, rejected, or retaliated against.
How do we begin to open up about the flaws in our relationship? Truthfully, it can be scary, so having someone with experience and a fresh, neutral view of the situation can help to strengthen the relationship.
An individual therapy session occurs in a confidential and safe place, generally in the therapist’s office, but online sessions are also available. The first few sessions are used to learn about your concerns, symptoms, and to develop a plan of action.

THE THERAPIST GUIDES THE SESSIONS, BUT YOU ARE THE ONE IN CONTROL.
Your therapist will guide you to help you decide and learn your therapy goals, identify coping strategies, rearrange life priorities, and identify personal strengths. We employ a multi-modal approach – each individual is unique. We tailor our work to fit each person’s personal needs.
We use evidence-based therapies (EBT) including but not limited to:
- ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy)
- CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)
- DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy)
- RODBT (Radically Open Dialectical Behavioral Therapy)
- MI (Motivational Interview)
