Are you counting your spoons? Neurodiversity, disability, chronic illness or pain, and energy

When not neurotypical, identifying one’s inner state may be a challenge. Sometimes the only time it’s easy to identify how one feels when neurodiverse, disabled, chronically ill, or in pain is when one feels “out of control”, “overwhelmed”, “exhausted” or “burnt out”.

Here’s an invitation to check your spoons!

Each spoon represents energy required to complete tasks throughout the day which can include work, self-care, social interactions, parenting, or school. How many spoons do you have currently? What replenishes your spoons?
